The NM film incentive program was designed to be an economic development program for New Mexico, not a hand-out to Hollywood companies. How much of that largess has been loaned to New Mexico film production companies, many of which have viable projects and qualified people to produce them? It's my understanding that the answer is zero. In all these years, zero! It goes to the good ol' boys network and God only knows how much of it has been filtered back under the table. I don't. But we all have our suspicions.
As to Hendry's "multiplier," he takes the idea of not loaning millions to Hollywood but continue the rebate program, disparages me for "witty one-liners," and considers not the big picture - the state, and all of us who pay taxes. And who resent the Hollywood hand-outs.
As to witty one liners, Jon, everyone knows "brevity is the soul of wit." Not smokescreens. Or bullying.
