[MISP] Growing Post in NM w/ NMPA (10/21)

***MISP-EVENTS-L is an announcement only listserv*** *

Hi again -- I hope everyone's doing well!

We at the New Mexico Post Alliance are very excited about the event we'll be having this Thursday (10/21) and, more than that, the growth we're continuing to see in post-production work being done locally.  These kinds of (generally) small businesses that are adding jobs and income, as well as reinvesting in New Mexico are helping fulfill the promise of the state's investment in a local film (and media) industry.

For our first quarterly member event, we're highlighting some of that local work, with sessions from the teams behind Adventures of a Teenage Dragonslayer and The Incredible Voyage of Captain Hook - as well as Red Earth VFX' Ron Thornton talking "Invisible VFX" or what the TV and film worlds are looking for. It'll all be fun and informative  - and a great networking opportunity.

Capping it off is our first 'Post-Party' Mixer at the Rio Chama Steakhouse.  We're happy to be doing this in association with the Santa Fe Film Festival which starts the next day.

For more information, prices and registration, please visit http://nmpa-fall2010.eventbrite.com

And, if you're working in post-production or beginning to enter the field, we hope you'll consider joining the Post Alliance.  Fees are at our site at http://www.nmpostalliance.org -- and if you're just starting out our Associate Membership almost pays for itself.

If you're interested in still more information, please join us for the (free) open membership meeting from 9:30 - 10:30 am that kicks off the event for an update on events and activities from the team.

We hope to see you this Thursday.
