Re: [MISP] Fwd: From Jim Gossard-This is important and timely

I am pretty sure that when someone sends a response to a LISTSERV there is an option (either avaialable to list managers or to members) that doesn't allow for this kind of discussion and repetition on the list. Perhaps the list should be controlled a bit more? Perhaps it should be a forum like pb wiki or proboards instead? Or, why don't we stop trying to moderate and micromanage it all together? Many of these list messages come from a mere handful of people. Once in a while people are sharing real opportunities. Mostly, its PR for a media industry goal which we don't seem to be reaching, with very much gusto.

Just throwing that out there.
And you'll forgive my earlier incomplete email. As in the Simpsons episode where Homer eats everything in order to claim disability for being obese..."Your fingers are too fat for this phone."

Much love.

Just to clarify, it looks like Jim didn't send the message to MISP - someone forwarded his message to the list.

I think the list serve is called the NM Media Discussion and the purpose is discussion of NM Media issues. While some of us might stretch topic matter on the list a little, myself included, I think the Jim Gossard's forward is way over the top. Having said this I think we really need a moderator for the list and wonder if in fact we have one since Eric left. Who selects and what is the process for selecting a moderator?
