Re: [MISP] [NM Media Industry Events] SIGGRAPH Meeting this Saturday in Las Cruces & Alb...

***MISP-EVENTS-L is an announcement only listserv*** *
Reminder (& cross-post):

The Rio Grande SIGGRAPH chapter meets tomorrow at linked locations in Las Cruces and Albuquerque, with updates, fun and lessons learned from local folks who've attended a variety of conferences and shows.  Our local SIGGRAPH chapter (and our other statewide digital media organizations) have been working hard to build connections between the many talented people we have throughout the state, so in addition to what I'm sure will be a fun time, I'd encourage you to check it out if you can and support these efforts.

But what, you might ask, if you're not in Albuquerque or Las Cruces?  As with many situations, it's really a question of supply and demand. Since RG-SIGGRAPH (and others like the Rio Grande IGDA and NM Post Alliance) are working with the Distance Education and NMCAC Gateway systems, the signals are out there -- and we really need other groups and communities to let us and the people who run their local sites know that they want to participate.

This will be part of the conversation (just a bit) at next Friday's Lincoln County Film Symposium - but I'll also mention the next likely opportunity for other groups to get involved will be when the Rio Grande IGDA & SIGGRAPH chapters team up for a special game industry career oriented event on Saturday, September 25th using the NMCAC Gateway system.  We're looking for more sites to participate, and there's plenty of time to get more on board... so let us know!

And... hope to see you tomorrow!

Rio Grande SIGGRAPH and other organizations are really connecting New Mexico's digital media community.  If you have a chance, please check this out!
