Milagro / Sundance / NM Film Office – This weekend

This weekend a series of events will be hosted in Santa Fe and Taos in collaboration with Milagro at Los Luceros and Sundance Institute.  Please visit www.nmfilm.com where you will find them under the view news updates link on the navigation bar on the right side of the home page.  Renowned filmmakers Haskell Wexler, Joan Tewkesbury and Taika Waititi are our featured speakers, with two of the four events co-hosted by the Sundance Institute.  All events are free and open to the public.

NALIP Documentary Workshop

A reminder that we will be hosting NALIP for their "Doing Your Doc" three-day workshop this weekend (May 21-23), open to all New Mexicans. At $50 for students, $100 for adults, this documentary training will include discussion, all materials, lunches, and a private project mentoring session.  If interested, you can register at www.nalip.org or call (310) 395-8880 with any additional questions.

NALIP Producers Academy

A reminder that next Wednesday, May 26th is the deadline for NALIP Producers Academy applications.  The NM Film Office will again host and sponsor NALIP for this residential training program for their documentary and feature tracks.  NOTE: You do not need to be of Hispanic descent to apply!  Please know that this program is highly selective and is open only to filmmakers with produced work on which they played a key creative role.  All accepted fellows are invited on full scholarship with materials, lodging, meals and local transportation provided.  For questions, call Octavio Marin, LPA Program Director at 310.395.8880 – and make sure to mention that you are a NM Filmmaker!  If interested, contact me at trish@nmfilm.com for the NM application.

Producers Academy Dates:
August 3 - 12, 2010 (Documentary Track) Santa Fe, NM
August 10 - 20, 2010 (Feature Track) Santa Fe, NM

Thank you to all who came out and supported our local talent last weekend at the NM Filmmakers Showcase!  A press release with information about the top films and our tour of those films around the state will be coming soon!
