Re: [MISP] Contemplate this (Guernica 3-D)

Very nice piece of work. I would say that this is 3 dimensional modeling using a software package like Maya, Realsoft or Truespace. After a little more research you see how this done by visiting the following link:

I saw this video, a 3-D representation of Picasso's GUERNICA, and wondered whether it was all done electronically (I've probably got the wrong term here), or whether a 3-D model was made.  See what you think.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKVCov-XFXw  (Select HQ)

[MISP] "Crazy Heart" reviews very good

“84” score on Metacritic is VERY high: http://www.metacritic.com/film/titles/crazyheart

Congratulations to all involved! Some talk of Oscar here for Jeff Bridges. (And “No Country for Old Men” not long ago…..) Hmmmm….

Re: [MISP] Our Founder, "E", holds forth at SF Film Festival....

Who are all of you people?  -and, why am I on your list?   I do video, but I'm not sure how I could be linked to your world.  I've been receiving these posts for months.  I enjoy them, but have no idea who any of you are or what you do (though starting to figure it out).     Anyhow, Eric sounds like a great guy.    So, Yeeeeaaa Eric!   That was fun.

Merry Christmas and kind regards,

I apologize for any offense in referring to Eric as "Our Founder", which I meant in a humorous sense as in "Our Fearless Leader", etc. I know Eric as the tireless administrator of the MISP list (I hope I'm not adding further offense or error by saying that), and I was unaware of the actual founding history. And I don't remember Eric explaining this to me before – but then there are a lot of things I don't remember.

And to the first Ad Hoc committee, that David was a member of way back in 2002, who put the first blueprint of the Media Industries Strategic Plan together for the soon to leave office, Gov. Gary Johnson.
It has taken an entire village of folks to raise a film industry in New Mexico. Thank you one and all. Happy and peaceful year end holidays, and let's all have a great new year.

Hi everyone...

I'm not sure exactly what Jim's trying to say, but as I've told him before -- I think many times -- I'm not really the founder of of the MISP list, and certainly not the state's Media Industries Strategic Plan.  To suggest otherwise is offensive and doesn't give proper credit to the several people who worked very hard to develop the plan and carry it forward, chief among them David Breecker and Eric Witt with strong and very personal support from Governor Richardson.

So please, give credit where credit is due.

Eric

Re: [MISP] Excerpts from "Hello", Lied the Agent

Great material!

Thank you.

Count me among those who will cheer when you get that statuette.

Having just lit a bunch of candles last night for the solstice, I can only hope that 2010 brings more light than heat in all sectors...

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy New Year,

Susan

Getting tons of laughs (and good information) from the book, "HELLO," LIED THE AGENT, And Other B.S. You Hear as a Hollywood TV Writer, by Ian Gurvitz.

Four brief excerpts below, for your amusement. (Some PG-rated).

Also a visualization / affirmation graphic that might be a useful exercise for others as well. (?)

Happy holidays, everyone, and may 2010 be a great year for film & media biz in NM, particularly locally-generated projects!

(re: 4 responses he gets when he tells people he's a TV writer)

(in response to somebody's question already – no, not a real invitation to
the Cowgirl – but hopefully next year!)
